A couple Caroline Malatesta and husband J.T got $16 Million in a lawsuit file againt Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. According to them, the nurse tried to push the baby back to the vagina.

The couple selected this place, for the birth of their 4th baby in 2014 because they claims natural birth of the baby during the delivery along with the access to walk during labor and wireless monitoring of fetus. Caroline wanted to feel free during labor because after delivering 3 babies, she knew how tiring and painful process is this. There fascinating advertisement attracted her to choose this center for the delivery of her 4th baby.

Caroline’s doctor was not at the phone call and the baby came before the expected time when her water bag broke. At that time, the nurse, to wait for the doctor, tried Caroline not to push the baby out, which was such a painful moment for her. She along with her doctor decided a position, on hands and knees, which seemed to be less painful but nurse forced her to hold the baby.

The nurse, instead of letting the baby to come out, held and pushed back the baby into the vagina which kept long for about 6 minutes and released after the arrival of the doctor. The baby boy born right after one minute to the Caroline.

The baby was fine after this stupidity, but Caroline is now suffering from damage of a genital nerve. Now she said that she has to spend more time taking rest and bath as it ruined her sex life. She was suffering from sensation of burning and pins and needles which is worse than labor pain.

The nurse of Malatesta said that she did so because she wanted her to wait for the doctor.
She tried to get the real answer behind it for last to years but all her efforts are in vein so she finally sued them.

“I had tried everything within my power to understand what happened from Brookwood’s perspective and get answers. Unfortunately I felt like I didn’t get any real answers. And they eventually just shut me out. That was when I realized the only option was litigation.”

“The baby was about to deliver. And she has got a strong urge to push and we were trying to get the doctor there.”

While talking about her labor, she according to her, she experienced birth trauma.

“It’s meaningful to me that so many women have contacted me and told me that the verdict was their validation that they never got. That gives meaning to an injury that’s hard to come to terms with – a bigger meaning than myself.”
“When I finally started talking about how I was concerned about how my birth went, other women started talking to me,” she said. “Then last year, when the media began covering my story, it’s like the floodgates opened. Women from all over started contacting me about similar things that happened to them.”
“That was a real driver for me to keep pursuing this. I realized I couldn’t just let that go.”
